ITB - The world's leading travel trade show

In March 2024, it’s that time again: Countries, cities, regions, travel organizers, booking portals, hotels, and other service providers from more than 180 countries will come together in one place.

As the world’s leading travel trade show, ITB Berlin is also a generator of inspiration for Corporate Social Responsibility. Ecological and social responsibility is an essential task for the future and a requirement for long-term success – not only in the commercial sense.

Integrated touristic concepts and shared commitment are required in order to be able to achieve sustainable change. That’s why ITB Berlin uses its key position on the market to promote dialogue and networking among the many different actors of the tourism industry.

Together with many partners from all over the world, ITB Berlin carries out an support numerous porjects in the area of Responsible Tourism all along the tourism supply chain. The World Legacy Awards for sustainable tourism initiatives, organised in cooperation with National Geographic Traveller play a particularly important role.

Through long-standing cooperation with atmosfair, ITB Berlin gives all visitros and exhibitors the chance to immediately improve their climate footprint when purchasing their online ITB tickets or during their visit.

ITB recommends …

    • Using Berlin’s public transports. Furthermore, a bus-shuttle-service from the hotel to the exhibition centre has been put in place in order to reduce private taxi journeys.
    • The Exhibitor Service Manual as well as any other order forms are primarily available online to avoid paper waste; instead of a catalogue ITB provides a “Virtual Marketplace”.
    • Special identified boxes at the departure gates invite exhibitors and visitors to recycle tickets & batches.

You can find all CSR-measures here.

    ITB Team: "We fly atmosfair"

For many yerars ITB has actively supported climate protection. As an important opinion leader, we promote the idea of voluntary climate protection compensation and enlist our customers and business partners to travel responsibly. Naturally, ITB Berlin has compensated for all of the emissions created by its employees’ business travel and therefore directly supports climate protection.
