The atmosfair fairfuel Standard serves as a quality seal for Power-to-Liquid (PtL) – encompassing E-Kerosene and E-Methanol – intended for aviation and the maritime transportation sector.

On 1 January 2021, the Paris Agreement on Climate Change entered into force and the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) as a certification mechanism for offset projects under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) officially expired. Under Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement, a similar mechanism is to be established in the future.
