More and more travellers want to take the climate impact of their trips into account and contribute to climate action accordingly. At the same time, travel service providers are looking for practical solutions to integrate climate action into their offerings in a simple and flexible way. atmosfair offers flexible models that can be easily integrated into existing booking processes. During the booking process, travellers can make a voluntary contribution to climate action, supporting high-quality climate action projects run by atmosfair. Contributions are settled either directly through atmosfair via API or by the travel service providers on a trust basis.
Depending on the specific application, two solutions are available. In both cases, travellers receive a certificate from atmosfair:
CO₂ offsetting based on calculated emissions
atmosfair calculates the emissions generated by a journey based on the travel details provided. Travellers can then offset these emissions directly through atmosfair’s climate action projects. atmosfair is currently the only provider that can offer its customers ‘genuine CO₂ offsetting’ in accordance with the Paris Agreement on climate change, without double counting. Climate action packages as a flat-rate additional service
Alternatively, you can offer your customers flat-rate contributions through our climate action packages. In this case, travel emissions are not calculated individually. Instead, customers can choose a climate action package of a suitable size and make a flat-rate contribution to support climate action projects. These packages are particularly suitable for booking processes in which an individual calculation of emissions is either not desired or technically impossible.

Standards and certifications
Emissions are calculated using atmosfair’s scientific methodology (VDR standard), drawing on many years of experience in mobility and travel. The climate action projects supported are registered with the United Nations and Gold Standard, or with CSI or Isometric in the case of carbon removals. Pricing
There are no costs for travel service providers to integrate or use the atmosfair interface when offering CO₂ offsetting or climate action packages.
