Offset my event

Exhibitions, annual general meetings, conferences, festivals and rock concerts, weddings or big family celebrations - atmosfair calculates the climate impact of your event and provides a detailed CO₂ report. If you wish, you can make a voluntary contribution to climate protection with which atmosfair offsets your CO₂ emissions through its climate protection projects. You receive a certificate confirming your CO₂ offset. This certificate can be displayed during the event or distributed to participants. In addition, atmosfair is happy to assist you with the implementation and communication of your climate-friendly event.

Please feel free to contact our event team:

atmosfair calculates the CO2 emissions of events according to the VDR-standard "CO2 reporting of business travel." This comprehensive methodology to calculate event-related CO2-emissions was developed by atmosfair together with the German Business Travel Association (VDR).

The calculation is usually based on both static as well as variable values – meaning we consider both information about the event venue and its energy consumption (specific for your event venue or using average values per type of building) as well as the duration, number of participants, overnight stays, catering, travel to and from the event destination, local mobility and transportation of goods.

Don’t worry: We will discuss the data you have available and the most appropriate option for you. In any case we will ask you to provide us with the necessary data by filling out a simple questionnaire –we take on the entire calculation for you! If you offset the calculated amount of CO2 emissions with atmosfair, the CO2 calculation is free. If you do not wish to offset with atmosfair, we charge a reasonable atmosfair rate to calculate the CO2-emissions of your event – ask us for a non-binding offer!

More information about climate-friendly meetings and events is available on our website at Green Meetings & Events!

CO2 avoidance

Before you decide to offset the CO2 emissions of your private or corporate event, you should consider measures that already avoid CO2 emissions at the planning stage. For example, you can choose venues that use renewable sources of energy or by motivating participants to use public transport. Provide information on local public transportation and offer event tickets from the railway company! You can find additional ways to reduce CO2 emissions in the guidelines of the Federal Ministry for the Environment and the Federal Environment Agency:
