Arrival of efficient cook stoves in Cameroon
Buea/Douala, Cameroon, April 2012: atmosfair celebrates the start of his fourth cook stove project in Africa with the arrival of the efficient cook stoves in Cameroon! Few days after Easter, the staff of Pro Climate International and the director Jean Claude Tsafack transported the Envirofit stoves of the type G3300 from the harbour to their final storage site. Pro Climate International is now starting to sale the stoves in the South-West and Littoral Regions of the country. The project is implemented under the Gold Standard Micro Scale standard. The project plan is to sell all 3300 stoves within the project region until the end of the year 2012.
Through the introduction of the efficient cook stoves, deforestation in the project region will be reduced and important ecosystems such as the mangrove forests will be further protected. Additionally families will save money as well as time due to the lower fuel wood consumption. With the help of your greenhouse gas offsettings atmosfair is subsidising the stoves to make them affordable for the people of Cameroon.
Further information about the project can be found on the project page.
